AppFormix is excited about the upcoming OpenStack Summit in Austin! We hope you are excited too!

The OpenStack Summit has returned to its hometown - Austin, Texas. Austin is the location of the very first OpenStack Summit back in 2010.  There were only 75 die-hards who attended. Today, six years later, the OpenStack Summit has grown to over 6,000 attendees, representing more than 56 countries. The OpenStack Summit brings together IT leaders, developers, operators, and key OpenStack contributors representing over 736 companies. It is a conference you wouldn't want to miss!

OpenStack is the first and only widely used open source cloud computing platform. The OpenStack mission statement is to provide open source cloud computing to meet the needs of “public and private [and hybrid] clouds regardless of size, by being simple to implement and massively scalable.”

The OpenStack Summit is a five day conference full of comprehensive technical discussions and workshops, perfect for all developers and operators, whether you are a newcomer to OpenStack or not, come see why OpenStack is one of the fastest growing open source communities.

Make sure to catch our CEO, Sumeet Singh, in an interactive panel alongside Jesse Proudman and Francesco Paola, discussing their own unique stories of creating their cloud infastructure startups and will point out what questions to ask yourself before embarking on your own startup.

Tuesday 2:50-3:30pm

You will not want to miss Travis Newhouse, Chief Architect of AppFormix, and Josh Barry from ViaSat, present how ViaSat is currently using OpenStack, their unique journey to OpenStack, and how OpenStack is helping them.

Monday 11:15-11:55am

Travis will also be joined by Michael Craft and Brian Eckblad from ViaSat to show how ViaSat approaches service optimization through performance monitoring.

Wednesday 3:30-4:10pm

The OpenStack Summit Austin will be held at the Austin Convention Center from April 25th to April 29th. The two closest hotels to the Convention Center are the Hilton Austin and the Hyatt Place Austin Downtown. Be sure to book your room now while discounted rooms are still available!  Another thing you won't want to miss out on is the Official Community Evening Party, which will be on the evening of Tuesday April 26th. The OpenStack Community will get to roam the famous Rainey Street, which consists of over 17 restaurants, bars, and food trucks. The community will get to dance to live music, try the mechanical bull, and so much more!  OpenStack parties are legendary and AppFormix is excited to see what they will do after having Sumo Wrestlers and Geishas in the Tokyo Summit party.

Make sure to stop by the AppFormix booth, #A31 in the marketplace. Get live demonstrations of AppFormix analytics for Cloud Infrastructure and don’t forget to pick up some AppFormix swag!  We will be having a game at our booth this year and winners will get to take home some awesome prizes.
