Today, we have some big news at AppFormix. Juniper Networks announced today its intent to acquire AppFormix. This is great news for our team, our customers and our technology.
As OpenStack supporters and tire kickers convene in Mountain View next week at the Unlocked Infrastructure Conference (a.k.a. OpenStack Silicon Valley), it is Unlocked Performance that I will have on my mind. Lately I’ve become a zealous red-flag waver on this issue. This spring has been crazy at AppFormix, and I mean that in the best possible sense. So many good things have come to fruition that it’s amazing to think that it was less than a year ago when we announced that AppFormix was exiting stealth mode with our solution for moving slow, sleepy monitoring technology into the service-optimization era.
AppFormix has big news today. Working with Intel, we have integrated Intel Resource Director Technology into our software. This makes it possible —for the first time— to monitor and manage individual workloads at the processor level, in real-time.
AppFormix is proud to be participating in Canonical’s Charm Partner Program. As most readers are probably familiar with, the Charm Partner Program helps complementary products such as AppFormix make the best use of Canonical’s universal service modelling tool, Juju. This partnership is great news for customers and service providers as Ubuntu is the world’s most popular platform for OpenStack deployments and the most commonly deployed guest operating system on major public clouds. Our strength is helping cloud operators and developers get the most from their infrastructure and now it’s a whole lot easier for Ubuntu users to get the insight and control needed to achieve that.
